Application
Monoclonal Anti-EEF1A1 antibody produced in mouse has been used in immunoblotting and immunofluorescence.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 α 1 (EEF1A1) binds to aminoacetylated tRNAs and delivers them to the elongating ribosome during protein synthesis. It aids in the association of the eukaryotic elongation factor 1 (eEF1) complex with the HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency virus-1) reverse transcription complex. EEF1A1 also associates with genomic RNA secondary structures of RNA viruses and helps in their replication.
Eukaryotic elongation factor 1 A-1 (EEF1A1) is involved in proper codon-anticodon binding interactions between mRNAs and tRNAs at the tRNA acceptor site of the ribosome. EEF1A also plays a translation-independent role in embryogenesis, senescence, oncogenic transformation, cell proliferation, apoptosis, cytoskeletal organization and protein degradation. Overexpression of EEF1A1 has been observed in various tumors of the pancreas, colon, breast, lung, and stomach.

General description
Monoclonal Anti-EEF1A1 (mouse IgG2b isotype) is derived from the hybridoma EF48 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide. Eukaryotic elongation factor 1 A-1 (EEF1A1), also known as EF-l α is a GTP-binding protein. EEF1A1 is one of the most abundant cytoplasmic proteins and is ubiquitously expressed except in neurons and muscle.
Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 α 1 (EEF1A1) is a cellular protein which is part of the eukaryotic elongation factor 1 (eEF1) complex. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 6q14.1.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal sequence of human EEF1A1
Physical form
